Thank goodness for Pinterest. I found a pin that completely guided me to the way to pack for an extended trip to France! Now, if I could only get it all together before Thursday!?! I just got back last night from Chicago (Amazing annual conference with the American Library Association). My head is just swimming.
The Conference ended splendidly with a pat-down in the security line at MDW. Damn grommets on my pants got me groped. "I'm probing your groin with the back of my hand, and again all over your breasts..." Okay, that wasn't exactly what she said, but it did remind me of the Saturday Night Live skit:
That isn't exactly how it went down, but it sure was a little more invasive than I thought! The trip improved considerably on my longer than planned layover in Vegas. I put $5 in a penny slot in the waiting area, got bored quickly and cashed out with $7.39. I decided to sit at a slot that was decipherable - I wanted to know if I was going to win, I didn't want 500 lines to look at and wonder if I won. So, I sat at a simple quarter machine. I was getting bored, so was just hitting max credits and lo and behold I won! $271.50 - yes, I walked away and went to a corner and started reading one of my amazing ARC's from Annual Conference. Wooo hoo!
That almost made me forget the TSA pat down...
More later-- I've got to shop and run errands like a madwoman.
